Brian Ribeiro
UC Foundation & North Callahan Distinguished Professor of Philosophy
Dr. Brian Ribeiro is an elected member of the UTC Council of Scholars and also a past President of the Tennessee Philosophical Association. He has authored dozens of scholarly articles, and his first book, Sextus, Montaigne, Hume: Pyrrhonizers, was published by Brill in 2021. Dr. Ribeiro teaches a wide range of courses, including Western Philosophical Traditions I & II, Introduction to Philosophy, The History of Modern European Philosophy, Epistemology, Philosophical Skepticism, The Philosophy of David Hume, Atheism & Agnosticism, and Philosophical Eschatology. Dr. Ribeiro holds a UC Foundation Professorship and was named North Callahan Distinguished Professor of Philosophy in 2019. He has served at UTC since 2004, having previously taught at Vanderbilt University, Belmont University, and West Virginia University.
